INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
I use a number of different therapeutic approaches and offer therapy that is evidence based and underpinned by a psychological formulation. This is the provisional and dynamic understanding that we reach together about what it is that is causing you distress, and why it has become so difficult at this time. As the therapy progresses, it is likely that the formulation will become more developed and offer a better understanding of how and why we react to situations in the way we do.
I will work with you, at your pace, to process past and current difficulties and traumas, and to develop more adaptive and fulfilling ways of being.
In therapy, I draw on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Schema Focussed Therapy (SFT) while also using aspects of Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness.
Therapy can be a very challenging and emotional experience. My aim is to offer you care and support through the process during which you will find the answers and solutions that work best for you not just in the immediate, but in the longer term.
Therapy is offered to adults (over 18) who are experiencing psychological difficulties including:
